§ 7. Vacancies.

Be it further enacted, that should a vacancy occur at any time in the office of mayor or councilmen during the term for which the mayor and councilmen may have been elected, by death, resignation, absence from the board for three months, or from any other cause, such vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the remaining members of the board.
